Benefits and Uses of Essential Oils

What is an Essential Oil?

  • Most people think that because they are called essential oils, it means they are classified as natural or regular oils we know.
  • Essential oils are not regular oils because they do not contain the fatty acids that we find in regular oils.
  • They are meant to soothe, restore, renew, and heal our bodies.
  • Essential oils are used in cosmetics and some of the household cleaning products.
  • You can make yourself facial scrub or lip balm with essential oils and substitute oils.

Store essential oils in a cool, dark place and they will be good and potent for years.  Keep them stay away from direct sunlight. Essential Oils really last for a long time because they are concentrated, and you only need to use a small amount.

How to Test the Purity of Essential Oils

Essential oils will last for over 5 years except for citrus oils. You will have to put 1 drop on a piece of construction paper if you want to test if it’s genuine or not. It will evaporate quickly and leave no noticeable ring.
