How to Remove Gel Nails with Pure Acetone

Sometimes you can have an emergency have no time or have no money to get to the nail salon so your only choice is to remove your gel nails at home. I feel every woman should learn at least 1 way of removing gel nails at home. Read on as l help you out with 1  of the ways of taking your gel nails off and later on  I will add a couple of ways. I hope this really helps.

Things You Will Need

•         Pure acetone –loosens gel nail adhesives

•         Small bowl

•         Plastic wrap

•         Aluminum foil

•         Buffer

•         Orange wood stick

Steps

1.      Use the nail file to scratch the surface until you scratch through the clear coat.

2.      Fill the bowl with acetone.

3.      Apply Vaseline or petroleum around your fingers to protect them.

4.      Dip 10 cotton balls thoroughly in acetone.

5.      Take 1 cotton ball and wrap it around your fingernail.

6.      Take aluminum foil cut into 10 squares and then wrap it around the cotton ball.

7.      Leave it on for about 20-30 minutes.

8.      Repeat with the other fingernails.

9.      Scrape the gel nail off with your orange stick.

10.    Sometimes 20 minutes is not enough so if the gel doesn’t come out then, wrap the nail again and wait for about 10 minutes until you are satisfied.

11.    Use your buffer to smooth the remaining all out.

12.    Shape your nails as you desire.

13.    Rinse off with warm water, apply moisturizer, and paint if you wish.

Some people prefer to dip their nails directly inside the bowl of acetone. If you choose to do it this way, be extra careful because acetone is a chemical and can be irritable on your skin if you have sensitive skin.
