How to Clean your Make-up Brushes at Home

Make-up brushes tend to pick up old make-up and dirt a lot so we need to wash them from time and again. Cleaning make-up brushes is supposed to be done daily after applying make-up because of bacteria, clogging of pores, and messing up our eye shadow colors. Well we tend to ignore this rule anyway. I will show you how to wash your make-up brushes at home right now.

Things You Will Need

Bowl

Baby shampoo, dishwashing detergent, or clarifying shampoo

Towel

Steps

1.    Rinse your make-up brush bristles under the tap of luke-warm water to remove outstanding make-up.

2.    Now fill up your bowl with luke-warm water, add detergent, baby shampoo, or clarifying shampoo, and make it lather with your hand.

3.    Massage the bristles gently to remove the dirt and  the make-up.

4.    Rinse the bristles under the running luke-warm tap water if you are satisfied that they are clean.

5.    Pat dry the make-up brushes between the dry towel and re-shape the bristles.

6.    Let the clean make-up brushes dry for a few hours before you start using them.

As you clean and rinse your make up brushes, stay away from the handle and avoid using very hot water. It is a very easy process to clean your make-up brushes at home.

How to Apply Eye Shadows at Home: 7 minutes Tutorial

It certainly is so easy to apply your eye shadows at home. You will need an eye shadow palette, eye shadow brushes, eyeliner, eye primer, and mascara. Choosing eye shadows is fun because nowadays there are many brands, types, colors, and textures to choose from. You can choose to use loose, creamy, and compressed eye shadows.

The best one is the compact ones since they don’t scatter all over and don’t crease. You need not have a lot of eye shadows. 3 or 4 of the same shades will be what you need. Gather light, medium, and dark colors as we start our do-it-at-home tutorial. Always do your eyelashes last after applying make-up, concealer, foundation, blush and bronzer.

Things You Will Need

Moisturizer

Eye Shadows

Eye Liner

Concealer

Eye Brushes

Eye Lash Curler

Method

  1. Wash your face with a cleanser of your choice.
  2. Make sure that you do not have any leftover mascara or eyeliner.
  3. Apply the lotion of your choice onto your face.
  4. Apply primer to your eyelids up to your eyebrow. Primer smoothes out your skin, fills up your pores, and makes the make-up last longer.
  5. Take your eye shadow palette. 3 or 4 shades will be good.
  6. Apply the lighter eye shadow of your choice to your whole eyelid using the thick, hard, and flat brush.
  7.  Apply and blend your eye shadow onto your eye crease with a softer dome-shaped brush. It will give you a smoother-looking shade of color from your lash line to your brow bone.
  8. Now you can apply eye shadow close to your lash line and the inner corners of your eyes with the soft pencil eye brush.
  9. Curl your lashes using your eyelash curler then apply the mascara of your choice.
  10. When you are done remember to always clean your make-up brushes after every use so that you do not spoil your eye shadow colors.
